This Years Event......

Below is a write up and Pictures from last years event, the First Annual D4D charity event.

The 2009 D4D event was a HUGE Success! Santa Rosa West Rotary have its, at the time, Red Badgers $1000 to do something good in our community with. While one thousand is a lot of money, the group thought, why not try to turn that into more! They decided to donate to D4D, knowing what a difference and impact their dogs make for so many families. Turning the $1000 into more was going to be tricky, but with some brain storming, they came up with the first ever D4D event night! Held at Santa Rosa Gymnastics owned by our own Red Badger Darcie Fellows, a Silent Auction was in the making as well as  demonstrations, wine and food by fellows Red Badger, Casey Williams. With 121 tickets sold and over 35 items donated the silent auction, we knew from the start, this event would prove to be a night to remember........

Thanks to the help of many, SRGC was transformed from a gym of flying and flipping children into a fun and social party place! Over 80 attended as well as 15 of our special guests.....D4D dogs. We had fabulous food, wine and socialization; we also had raffle prizes every 15 minutes and amazing gymnastics demonstrations. Everyone loved seeing the dogs and learning about the program during the very informative explanation of their training’s and program.

Tracy Kline did a fabulous job running the silent auction tent which auctioned off 95% of the items. Casey Williams scrumptious food was quite a hit! Just the flavor for the event that left everyones taste buds happy and wanting more! Kris Lepore was the bartender with the skills! Thanks to his help in setup and drink poring the wine sales was a success. SRGC & D4D volunteers worked the door and greeting and Darcie Fellows was our host and worked the mic to keep the evening rolling.

All in all, a great success! We turned the original $1000 into $7800 and the once red badgers, now blue badgers, better known now as “The Fabulous Four”, finished the evening with a celebration! They have committed to making this fundraiser an annual event.

Thanks to everyone who donated time, effort, money and items to make the first of its kind event, a complete success!
