Meet Our Staff......

Darcie has over 36 years experience in Gymnastics and over 25 years experience of Dance. She was a gymnast for 14 years, competitively for 10 years. She began training at Santa Rosa Gymnastic Center (SRGC) in 1975, the first year it opened, and was coached by Richard Schroder, the originator of SRGC.


Darcie has coached gymnastics for 23 years, 20 at the Optional Level (i.e., Levels 7-10). She has coached numerous State, Regional, and National champions. She has also taught Tap, Ballet, and Jazz, as well as self-defense and Karate (3rd Degree black belt in Shorin-Ryu & Kubudo). She also has over 15 years teaching fitness, aerobics and currently Step aerobics.


Darcie has been the owner, director, and head coach at SRGC since 2002. She coaches the Levels 7-10 team and does all the choreography for those teams. She has held a seat on the Nor Cal Executive Board as a Zone Representative for 19 years now. She has a degree in Fitness and Nutrition and is USAG Safety Certified, Skill Evaluator certified, PDP certified, First Aid and CPR Certified. Darcie is also a Rotarian and current board member of the Santa Rosa West Rotary and director of Youth Services.

Erika Wong  -- Office Manager

Erika has worked for Santa Rosa Gymnastics for over 10 years.  With over 20 years of office experience, including a AA in Business. Erika is responsible for class scheduling, billing, delinquent accounts and handles the general office management and its staff. Erika played college soccer and is certified as a fitness instructor. She has training and certification of Preschool fundamentals and basic gymnastic instruction as well as background checked, SRGC, First Aid & CPR Certified.

Alexis Shipe  --                                                                                           Girls Developmental Director & Compulsory Coach/Director

Alexis started gymnastics at SRGC and has over 25 years experience in gymnastics. Alexis has a BA in Psychology. She has been teaching gymnastics for over 15 years. Currently, Alexis coaches the Level 4,5, 6 compulsory teams and the Recreational Xcel Team. Alexis is background checked, USAG registered and Safety Certified as well as being SRGC, First Aid & CPR Certified.

RoseAnn Braunstein  --    Team Coach

Better known as “Zanny” around here. Zanny has over 18 years experience in gymnastics and was a SRGC competitive gymnast for over 7 years. She is a retired level 10, Davis collegial gymnast and has her BA and Credentials in Education, and is continuing with her masters in Education. She currently is assistant coach for level 7-10. She is registered through USAG and is USAG Safety Certified, SRGC, FIrst Aid and CPR Certified as well.

Dan Stewart  -- Boys Director & Saturday Manager

Dan comes to us with over 8 years experience coaching boys and girls gymnastics, 5 of which has been at SRGC. He is actively perusing his BA in Education and his teaching Credentials. He currently coaches both girls and boys as well as teaches camps, homeschool, adult classes and birthday parties. Dan is background checked, USAG registered and Safety Certified as well as being SRGC, First Aid & CPR Certified.

Amy Fryling  -- Tot and Recreational Director & Level 3/4 Coach

Amy comes to us with over 30 years experience in Gymnastics, 10 of which was highly competitive. She has been teaching at SRGC for 5 years now and coaches the Level 3 Girls team, various tot and girls classes, homeschool, camps and birthday parties. Amy is background checked, USAG registered and Safety Certified as well as being SRGC, First Aid & CPR Certified.

Flora Karoki  -- Level 4 Coach & Girls Instructor

Flora, known as “Flo” at SRGC has over 20 years experience in gymnastics. She was a competitive gymnast at SRGC for 12 years, and has been teaching for 10 years. She holds a Masters in Athletic Training, and is SRGC current Athletic Trainer. Flora helps coach the girls Level 4 team and teaches girls recreational & developmental gymnastics. She is background checked, SRGC, FIrst Aid & CPR Certified.

Kristin Schmidt -- Tot and Girls Recreational Teacher

Kristin has just started teaching tots and beg. girls with us, but has been in the CIT program for over 3 years and has over 12 years of experience as a gymnast. She is a current member of the SRGC Level 8/9 Optional Team. She also teaches camps and Birthday parties. Kristin is SRGC, First Aid & CPR Certified.

Rachel Officer  --Cheer Coach & Girls Instructor

Rachel has over 4 years of gymnastic experience and 5 years of Cheerleading and Dance experience. She has Coached our Youth Cheer Team, toddler classes, girls recreational classes, camps and birthday parties. She has been an instructor at SRGC for 2 years.

Kelsey Taylor  -- Girls Recreational Instructor/ Office

Kelsey has over 13 years experience in gymnastics and has been teaching at SRGC for 2 years now. She is a current member of our Level 9 Optional Team and teaches toddlers, girls classes as well as camps and birthday parties. She attends the SR Junior College to attain her AA. Kelsey is SRGC, First Aid & CPR certified.

LeighAnne Manwiller  -- Girls Recreational Instructor

LeighAnne has been involved in gymnastics for over 14 years, and cheerleading for 3 years. She was a SRGC gymnast for 10 years and a competitive gymnast for 4 years. She was also a Montgomery High School Cheerleader. She currently teaches tots, girls rec., cheerleading and camps.

Raquel Bailey--- Girls Rec. , Cheer Coach, Office

Raquel has been with SRGC as a student and coach for over 5 years. She has experience in recreational gymnastics, tumbling and Cheerleading. She has been an All-Star Cheerleader & Coach, HS Cheerleader, College Cheerleader & coach, and currently coaches our cheer classes. She also works the front desk on Saturday’s. Raquel graduated UC Davis with her BA in Psychology with a Minor in Philosophy, and currently attends Empire to gain her Law Degree. She is Background checked and SRGC safety certified.


Kayla Sibbalucca  -- Girls & Boys Recreational Instructor

Kayla has been teaching at SRGC for over 2 years and has over 14 years of experience in gymnastics.  She is currently a member of our Level 9 Competitive Optional Team, and attends the SR Junior College, and is getting her degree in Athletic Training.  Kayla teaches girls and boys recreational classes, team and is Background checked, SRGc, First Aid & CPR Certified.


Alisha Hoffman  -- Girls, Tots & Boys Recreational Instructor

Alisha is also a newer staff member who has gone through 3 years of CIT training, and a former Level 6 gymnast at SRGC. She has been involved in gymnastics for over 10 years.  She teaches tots, and beginner girls and boys, as well as camps. She is SRGC trained and Certified as well as First Aid/CPR certified.


Rachel  Casey ---- Girls, Tots & Camp Instructor

Rachel is one of our newer staff members. She is a current Level 7 gymnastic team member at SRGC. She has been involved in gymnastics for over 10 years and teaches recreations girls, tots and camps. She is SRGC Trained and Certified, as well as being First Aid/CPR certified.



Caitlyn  Kirby ---  Girls, Level 4 & 5 Team Coach & Camp Instructor

Caitlyn comes to us with over 12 years experience in gymnastics. She was a former Level 9 gymnastic Competitor. She has been teaching with us for 2 years and has years of experience and knowledge to give to our young gymnasts. Caitlin is at the JC currently to be an Athletic Trainer. She is Background checked, USAG Registered and Safety Certified, as well as SRGC, First Aid, & CPR Certified.

Siobhan Anderson -- Girls, Tots & Camp Instructor

Siobhan has over 12 years experience in gymnastics. She is a current member of our Level 7 gymnastics competitive team and is one of our newer staff members. Siobhan or “Shivin” or “Vonnie”, as her many nick names, is also a HS pole vaulter and has just started to sore to new heights! Siobhan teaches tots, girls, boys and camps. She is SRGC Certified as well as First Aid and CPR Certified.

Kyer Hufstutter  -- Girls & Boys Instructor / Camp Instructor

Kyer is new to our staff this year. He has been a student at SRGC for the past 10 years. He has been in our CIT program for over 3 years and is a very positive and energetic instructor. He teaches Tots, and Beg. Boys and Girls, and camps. Kyer is SRGC, First Aid & CPR Certified.

    All of the SRGC instructors have personal experience in either or all of gymnastics, tumbling, cheer leading & dance. 80% of our staff have been competitive gymnasts/cheerleaders and all have gone through the SRGC training program and testing. If they have grown up in the gym, they have at least 1 year of CIT (Coach In Training) training, where they work with and shadow a certified instructor in class, weekly. Instructors and Coaches must all  go through ongoing training, done quarterly, where class management, safety, spotting, and gymnastic techniques are all taught, drilled and tested. On top of the in house training, all of the Team Coaches and Supervisors attend the USAG Region 1 training seminars annually, which they share what they learned with the rest of our staff.

    All SRGC staff are First Aid and CPR certified and all staff members over the age of 18 are Live Scan Fingerprinted. All Team Coaches are USAG safety certified and back ground checked as well.

Shawn Kelley -- Girls & Boys Recreational and Developmental Instructor

Shawn started his gymnastic career in High School as a cheerleader and tumbler. During his HS years he also was training to be a gymnastic coach at a gym in Lake County. Since graduating in 2010, Shawn has continued his Gymnastic education with a SRGC training and certification. He currently teaches Girls & Boys gymnastics and has also been USAG Safety Certified, Back ground checked and First Aid/CPR Certified and is a student at SRJC, working on his Math and Music Degrees.
